STRADBROKE ISLAND ROCK OYSTERS (2007 - 2013)

As a family the Waynes embarked on a small oyster farming venture in Moreton Bay. For near on seven years the Wayne family produced some outstanding oyster product, whist enjoying a magic opportunity to relax 'off the grid' on their 50' houseboat moored within the lease boundary on Nth Stradbroke Island.   Everyone involved in the project has fond memories of the hard work and spectacular sunsets - plus the excellent bonding experiences they all enjoyed.  The family vows to one day return to the fabulous Moreton Bay Marine Park and to possibly again grow some of the worlds best Rock Oysters.

In this period John joined the local oyster growers association and was also elected Secretary of QOGA. In this time John (with his Government Connections) lobbied hard to have new signage installed at boat ramps, reminding fishermen and boaties of the large penalties for stealing and unlawfully accessing registered Oyster leases.
